Right to Information Act, 2005 has been promulgated. Under provisions of this Act, the Department of Transport, Uttar Pradesh has compiled information manuals for access by members of the public. These manuals will be available at all transport offices in the state, and the requisite information can be sought by applying to the concerned Public Information Officer (PIO) nominated at each office.

Extracts of the manuals are also being made available on this website, in addition to other information which is progressively compiled and digitized by the department. Most of the information in this section is in Hindi for which the relevant font may need to be downloaded and installed on your computer by clicking the button below.

Constitution of Appellate Authorities

For appeals against the decisions taken by the Public Information Officers (PIO) posted at various transport offices in the state, the following officers have been nominated as the appellate authority:

Deputy Transport Commissioner (Zone)
for appeals against decisions taken by PIO / ARTO in any of the sub-regional transport offices located within the concerned zone.
Addl Transport Commissioner (Admn),       TC Office, Lucknow
for appeals against decisions taken by PIO / DTC (Zone) in any of the zonal transport offices located within the state
